Prepare for the Celebration on Monday: 1) Printed piece: All HF pieces MUST be printed before class begins at 8:20 am on Monday. If you need to come to school early to print your piece, you MUST be here by 7:30 or 7:45 am or there is no guarantee that there will be enough time to print before the celebration begins. 2) Dress as your main character or someone from your time period. DO NOT buy anything new! Be creative. Using the clothes you already have, think about how you might dress for our celebration. 3) Bring in a dish or drink that represents the time periods we've studied. 4) Our celebration is from 8:45-10:00 am on Monday. 1) Add any last minute touches on your change maker project. Use the rubric for the project and rubric for the note taking packet to make sure you've addressed everything you need to. 2) Prepare for conferences by being ready to speak about yourselves confidently and boldly for 2 thoughtful minutes! To prepare: - Time yourself to make sure that you keep your conference at 2 minutes to allow us time to share and time for your families to share as well. - Practice looking up and only glancing at your notes/essays. Practice looking your audience in the eye by practicing in the mirror, in front of stuffed animals, or in front of a live audience. - Highlight and post-it areas that really show your successes and struggles. -Write a welcome letter to your family on LOOSE LEAF, so you will be able to hand it to them directly. Independent HW selection considering the following:
1) Dedicate most of your time on you change maker project, which is due on Thursday, March 15th (the 1/2 day and conference day). 2) Poster Making:You can create a small poster - 9 x 12 (small construction paper size)/large construction paper to carry for our grade 5 silent walkout. Or to tape a small message to your shirt. If you have poster board you go for it.
